One of the best options in Russian Market for an inexpensive, delicious, and filling meal is Sumatra Restaurant. They offer numerous vegetable, tofu, and tempeh dishes and price are hard to beat. Try the cassava tempeh or the tofu goda goda.
Sumatra Restaurant is the best Indonesian restaurant not just in Phnom Penh, but also in Cambodia. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is good and the food is delicious. The rates at this restaurant are cheap. Customer favorite food at Sumatra Restaurant was eggplant with rice, which cost me a little less than USD 2. You could also try Beef Rendang.
This restaurant is epically amazing. The food is so tasty (and homemade taste), even better from the one in Cambodia. The owner and the staffs are also so nice. Plus the price is quite cheap. Recommended this place for those that missing home and want to taste real Indonesian food. There are a lot of foreigners here and that is because they serve good food. They have a lot of drinking provide lunch and dinner. Sumatra Restaurant proved a healthy food and drink, and it has a lot of food and very delicious. If anyone would want to have a craving for Indonesia’s food, this is the place to come. The price is reasonable and foods are very nice.
It’s popular with vegetarians, and it is perhaps the only place in the city where you can get tempeh. However, it’s a tempeh that looks suspiciously like tofu: it’s got that distinctive fermented taste to it, but the texture is very smooth and light, no evidence of actual soybean husks in it.
This restaurant offers a wide range of Indonesian dishes that are satisfying and great value for money. Long stay visitors to Phnom Penh on a budget could easily make this a regular haunt. There are tables inside and in the yard at the front and rooms for parties available. The staffs are friendly, they can vary items if you ask, and the atmosphere is relaxed. We eat here regularly and really enjoy the satay, rending and balados but everything we have tried has been good. If you have a preference I think you will enjoy what they serve you. Sumatra restaurant comes with a nice decoration which followed by jungle-style and very creative environment and clean. The environment is has comfortable and natural air. When client come to restaurant, we have space for parking.
